Carolyn May Scoggins, 81, of Denton, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Atrium Medical Center in Corinth. She was born on June 27, 1931 in Denton to J. D. and Irene (Powell) Gentry. She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. She was married to Richard C. Scoggins on December 27, 1948 in Denton, and he passed away on January 20, 2010.
Mrs. Scoggins is survived by two daughters, Phoebe Felts and Lydia Oyster, both of Denton; three sons, Dickie Scoggins and Daren Scoggins both of Denton, and Craig Scoggins of Argyle; two sisters, Dorothy Braly and Catherine Mitchell of Denton; brother, Bob Gentry of Granite Shoals; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Oak St. Denton, with Rev. Steve Plunkett officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park.
