Carolyn R. Jenkins (1934 - 2015) passed peacefully on November 12th 2015, in Denton, Texas at the age of 81. Her husband Paul, daughter Diane, and son-in-law Joe, were at her side. She is survived by her loving family including her husband Paul; brother Robert Riese of Lansing, Kansas; daughter Diane (Joe) Giuffreda of Lewisville, Texas; and sons Mark (Terri) of Austin, Texas; Eric (Annie) of Arvada, Colorado; and John (Brenda) of Lexington, Kentucky. Carolyn has nine grandchildren: Chris, Marie, & Alex Giuffreda; Sarah & Ross Jenkins; Ryan & Emily Jenkins; Erin Scalise; and James Spence. Don't stop there, she also has four great grandchildren: Sean, Ava, Nicolette, & Tatiana Scalise.
Carolyn was born in Flushing, New York, to Albert & Emma Riese. She graduated from Hunter College, New York City, in 1955. Later that year, Carolyn married Paul Jenkins, a 1954 graduate of the United States Military Academy. As a military wife, she lived throughout the United States while starting a family. Carolyn was a loving wife and an amazing mother raising four very successful children. As an empty nester, Carolyn had a successful career as a Financial Aide Counselor. She and Paul retired in 1995, at their home in Northern Virginia, and then traveled the world. They relocated to Denton, Texas in 2006. She was an active volunteer enhancing the community at Good Samaritan Lake Forest. Carolyn will always be remembered as a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother and a woman whose greatest passion was helping others.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 16th at 10:00am. It will be held in the Chapel at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2255 N Bonnie Brae St, Denton, TX 76207. There will be a reception immediately follow the Mass at the church.
Interment will be on Friday, November 27th at 10:00am in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211.
