Carolyn Rebecca Bellar, 94, of Denton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Mrs. Bellar was born on October 27, 1920 in Headland, Alabama to Quincy Cleveland and Flossy (Knowles) Posey.
She is survived by her two sons, Bill Bellar and his wife Judy of Las Vegas, NV, Dan Bellar and his wife Becky of Denton; grandsons, Adam Bellar of Palm Springs, Joshua Bellar of Denton, Robert Walden of Allen and Michael Walden of Denton; sister, Lou Ellen Lee of Mobile, AL. She was preceded in death by husband, Felton Bellar; sister, Mary Virginia and two brothers, James Wyatt Posey and Quincy Cleveland Posey.
Carolyn and Felton met and were married while serving in the US Navy in 1944 and moved to Denton, Felton's hometown, following their stint in the military. Both their sons were born in Denton where Felton owned and operated Bellar Fina.
Carolyn was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Denton. She had worked at Craven's Department Store before retirement in 1990. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, but has caused the angels to sing in glory.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 3, 2015 at Roselawn Memorial Park.
