Carole Jean (Gunn) Waddill, 74 of Denton, TX, passed away on August 16, 2024 after a long period of infirmity due to multiple chronic health issues.

Carole was born on October 1, 1949 to Rex Bedford Gunn and Melva Lee (Darden) Gunn in Corsicana, Texas. After Carole graduated from R.L. Turner High school, she went on to study Education at Navarro Jr College and Texas Woman's University. Carole earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a specialty in Reading (cum laude).

After graduating she taught as a substitute teacher throughout the Denton area, but primarily in Pilot Point, Texas.

Carole met Joe Waddill in Carrollton, Texas. Carole and Joe went on to have one child, Jeffrey Brian Waddill.

Carole loved being an Election Volunteer, Cub Scout Den leader, and Mother. Carole and Joe loved car trips to "small town" Texas. In the early 2000's Carole retired and spent her time taking care of her family, and rooting for her favorite sports teams (Texas Rangers, Baylor Bears, and TCU Horned Frogs).

Carole was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Paul Wayne Gunn. She is survived by her husband Joe and son Brian.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 24, 2024 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home at 705 N. Locust Denton, TX 76201.
