Carole Stephens, 80, of Denton, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Corinth Rehabilitation Suites.
Mrs. Stephens was born on October 12, 1937 in Jasper, Alabama to William R. and Opal (Moseley) Blackwell. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1956 and was married to Steve J. Stephens on August 28, 1958 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Carole was a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and a fabulous southern cook, having learned from her mother and grandmothers, and mother-in-law.
Carole is survived by her husband Steve J. Stephens of Denton; son, Brad Stephens and his wife Elizabeth of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and his children, Jacob and Shelby; son, Darrell Stephens of  Phoenix, Arizona and his children, Tanner, Garrett, Whitney, McKenzie; daughter-in-law, Deborah; one great- grandson, Remington; great-granddaughter, Alma; sister, Sandy Huntimer of Spring Valley, CA.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, October 23, 2017 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton. Rev. Cliff Feeler will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas.
