IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Kreh
Maloney
January 12, 1942 – January 26, 2022
Carol Kreh Maloney was born January 12,1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied English and French at Mercyhurst College, graduating with high honors and a passion to teach which she fulfilled over the rest of her lifetime. During her many years of teaching, Carol taught English, French, and ESL at every level of education, children to adults. In retirement, she continued to tutor adults and taught the Bible weekly to residents in her senior living community. Beloved for her creativity and patience with instruction, she impacted the lives of hundreds of students with her love of learning and her desire to help others. She spoke openly and joyfully of her faith to everyone she met.
She is survived by her three children, Chris (and Julie) Maloney, Pete Maloney, and Jen (and Jeff) Wilkin, her sister, Jean Bowen, eight grandchildren, Abby and James Maloney, Liam and Julia Maloney, Matt Wilkin, Mary Kate Hlavinka, Claire Wilkin, and Calvin Wilkin, and one great-grandchild, Henry Charles Hlavinka. Her family and friends will remember her for her abiding faith, her intelligence, her courage in adversity, her witty humor, her love of chocolate, her diligence in prayer, and her devotion to her calling as a teacher. Her life has taught us that "Godliness with contentment is great gain."
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
