Obituary

Carl E. McCurley, age 84, of Lewisville, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007, in Lewisville.

Carl was born October 27, 1922 in McCurley Prairie, Texas to Andrew and Maude Crites McCurley. Carl served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He married Geneva Salmon who preceded him in death on December 18, 2002. On June 28, 2003 Carl married Pauline Johnson. He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church in Lewisville. He previously served as director of the Intermediate Department at First Baptist Church in Lewisville for 12 years and had been a very active member of the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce. He established the Veterans Vocational Schools in both Lewisville and Denton. Carl was very active in real estate and insurance sales for many years and earned several awards including the Sentry Sales Leaders Triangle for 20 years, Top Performers Club of Sentry Insurance, Golden Horseshoe Club Sentry and Master Sentrymen's Club. Carl felt his greatest legacy in life was the success of his sons and granddaughters who he was so very proud of.

Carl is survived by his wife, Polly; sons, Mike McCurley and wife, Mary Jo of Dallas and

Pat McCurley and wife, Cheryl of Midlothian; grandchildren; Melissa McCurley and her husband Richard George and Becky McCurley; stepsons; Steve, Jerrell and Craig Johnson; brothers,Chris McCurley of Flower Mound and Dan McCurley of Carrollton; sister, Helen Peach of Lewisville; step-grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Julie, Jeff, Kristy, Keri and Erica.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by his brothers, Fred, Jack and Homer and sisters, Marie and Anna.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Lewisville. Interment will follow at McCurley Cemetery in Lewisville.

Dr. Stephen G. Hatfield will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from
