Reverend Carl B. Lambert, Jr., age 82, of Krum, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2007.
He was born on November 3, 1924 to Carl and Callie Lambert in Little Elm, Texas. He married Jewel Dean Sanders in 1944. She preceded him in death in 1993, after 49 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his son, Ronnie, three brothers, Homer, Wayne, and James and two sisters, Edith Rushing and Geneva Henry.
Reverend Lambert and his family pastored First Assembly of God Church in Lewisville, Texas for 29 years until retiring in 1988. Shortly thereafter he was approached to begin a church in Krum, where they resided. After much prayer, they began the Christian Center. The small congregation has continued to grow and flourish under his guidance.
He is survived by his wife Nell who he married in 1998. They continued to pastor Christian Center until his death. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Gary Lambert of Haslet, Texas, Judy McCutchen and husband Joe of Atlanta, Georgia, Shirley Evatt and husband Jerry of Lewisville, Texas and Deana Griffin of Krum, Texas. He was Peepaw to 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Other surviving family members include one brother, Kenneth of Grapevine, three sisters, Truda Carson and Allie Walker of Dallas and Clare Bartee of Denton and many loving extended family and church family members.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday January 22, 2007 at the First Assembly of God 425 Purnell Lewisville, Texas. Interment will follow in the Little Elm Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday January 21, 2007 3 to 5 pm at the Christian Center Assembly of God 112 Britton St. Krum, Texas.
Any memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Christian Center Building Program Fund at the First United Bank, 146 McCart St., Krum, TX 76249.
