Carey Arnell Livingston, COL, USA, Ret of Denton, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday July 28, 2023. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 23, 1933 in Louisville, MS to Noel and Mamie Sue Livingston. His civilian and military graduations included East Central Jr. College, Mississippi State University, Command & General Staff College, and Army War College class of 1983. He retired with 33 years of service from IBM Corporation holding various middle and executive management positions, as well as staff assignments in marketing and finance. His military experience included over 36 years of active Army, active National Guard and active US Army Reserve assignments retiring as an Army Colonel in 1988. Upon retirement from IBM he joined the staff at Starreon Corporation in Denver, CO and later retired again when it became Octel Starreon (a joint venture).
Additional contributions included serving on the Board of Directors for Crosslink International in Falls Church, VA, member of The Gideons International, life member of the Reserve Organization of America (ROA), ordained Baptist Deacon, Disaster Relief Volunteer for Bay Leaf Baptist Church, and Samaritan's Purse.
He loved running, walking, snow skiing, fishing, reading; especially spending time in God's word, and family vacations. He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Antoinette of Denton, TX, son Randy Livingston and his wife Alicia of Plymouth, MN, son Jon Livingston of Duluth, MN, daughter Colleen Sutterfield of Broomfield, CO, 5 grandchildren - Cory Livingston-Harris and his wife Shannon of Las Vegas, NV, Angie Geffre and her husband Aaron of Delano, MN, Joshua Livingston of Moose Lake, MN, Connor Sutterfield of Denver, CO and Caleb Sutterfield of Broomfield, CO., 2 great-grandchildren - Alli and Aiden Geffre, brother Keith Livingston and his wife Kathy of Ruckersville, VA, and nephews Lee Livingston and his children Annalise and Daniel of Charlottesville, VA, Steve Livingston and his wife Ceci and their son Emanuel of Ruckersville, VA and many cousins in Mississippi. He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, grandpa, papou, and G-Papa and will be greatly missed. He led a life as a devoted Christian having a strong faith in God.
A private family burial will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. To honor Carey's memory, please consider making a contribution to Samaritan's Purse and The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
