Bonita "Bonnie" Slaughter, age 84, of Highland Village, Texas, formerly of Portland, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007, in Lewisville, Texas.

She was born August 2, 1922 in Omaha, Nebraska. Bonnie married Robert L.

Slaughter, Sr. on August 24, 1946 in Aloha, Oregon. She was a member of Orenco Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, Oregon and was an active community volunteer.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Robert L. Slaughter, Sr.; daughters, Dorothy Houck of Highland Village, Texas and Linda McNeil of Portland; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Moore of Vancouver, Washington and Harriet Waite of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Bernice DeBuse Christensen; son, Robert Slaughter, Jr. in 1994 and by her brother, William Christensen.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Orenco Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

The family requests memorial contributions made to the American Diabetes Association.
