Rev. Bobby Gene Bryan, 80, of Denton, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1931 in Dallas, TX to Roberts Owen and Lucile Bryan. He was a Southern Baptist Minister, pastoring Churches in Colorado, South Dakota and several churches in Texas, where he retired from a full-time pastorate in 1996, while serving at Cooper Creek Baptist Church in Denton. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Krugerville. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and Howard Payne University. He is preceded into Glory by his wife of fifty years, Betty Sue Wilson Bryan.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Joyce Bryan of Denton; daughter, Darla Jeanette Melton (Wayne) of Emory, TX; son, Stephen Gene Bryan of Winnsboro, LA; brother, Morris Wayne Bryan of Dallas; grandchildren, Corey Beasley (Alicia), Kimberly Beasley, Sarah Jones (Jacob), Jonathan Beasley, Kalie Beasley, Laura Beasley; great grandchildren, Kirbee Beasley, Saydee Beasley, Harper Jones; stepchildren, Geary Watson (Margaret), Stephen Watson (Cindy), Melanie Sweatman (Bob); step-grandchildren, Jason Watson, Rebecca Johnson, Adam Creed, Joshua Sweatman, Joy Sweatman; step great-grandchildren, William Johnson, Gracie Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday May 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Krugerville, TX, 5021 Hwy 377, Krugerville. Rev. Billy Harris and Rev. Sam Redfearn will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Cooper Creek Cemetery, with Dr. Richard Montgomery officiating. The family will be at the First Baptist Church of Krugerville for visitation on Friday, May 18, 2012 for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8 P.M.
