Obituary

Bobbie Jean (Jeanie) Ketchum Gould was born August 16, 1945 in Abilene, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jeanie, age 77, peacefully passed away from this life into the arms of Jesus on May 25, 2023.

She met Donald Ray Gould in Fort Worth, Texas as they worked across the street from each other when she was employed as a beauty operator. They met at a small cafe around the corner when a woman working there introduced them, and they quickly fell in love. They were married 6 weeks later on October 26, 1963 and were married for 59 years. They started their family the next year with their son, Kenneth Ray Gould and 14 years later added their daughter, Katherine Eileen Gould.

Jeanie loved the Lord with all her heart and you could often find her using her beautiful soprano voice to sing hymns in church and around the house. When she could, she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and volunteering in church. You would often find her deeply involved in studying the Bible and writing those Scriptures upon her heart. We know she is now finding the joy & peace she always longed for in her heavenly reward.

Jeanie started her career as a young beauty operator, followed by working at Samsill Brothers & Burleson ISD. She worked as an AFLAC insurance agent for several years, earning top accolades for her achievements. She then diligently worked to obtain her licenses to become a successful financial advisor, working for several firms and eventually running her own business. She served as Treasurer of the Women's Club of Fort Worth & for the Women's Health Forum, served on the United Way Community Review Panel, was involved in the Rotary Club of Denton, and the Chamber of Commerce in Argyle. She earned a spot in the Manchester Who's Who Registry, which was a list of professionals who were influential in their industry. You could also find her enjoying gardening, art, reading & attending cultural events. She wrote a poem in 1989 called "The Halo" that won a Golden Poet and Who's Who in Poetry Award.

Her greatest joy was her family who she took great pride in. She was willing to brag on her family by telling anyone who would listen. She made you feel loved, welcomed and special.

Her legacy will remain with her family: husband of 59 years, Donald Gould; son Kenneth Gould & his wife, Virginia Gould of Sanger; daughter Katherine Gould of Lewisville; grandchildren: Candice & Steven Bolte of Lewisville, Ray & Ashly Gould of Sanger, Sarah & Zach Ripple of Sanger, Kenson Gould of Sanger; 7 great-grandchildren & another great-grandchild on the way. This also includes 2 beloved sisters in Fort Worth: Sandra Vallance & Beverly Smith, several nieces & nephews, additional dear family & friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Edwin Ketchum and Mary Evelyn Massegee Ketchum.
