Bo Zachary Rozell
July 26, 2004 – January 11, 2026
Bo Zachary Rozell, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 21. Known for his upbeat personality, unwavering positivity, and deep kindness, Bo lived with a rare combination of confidence, fearlessness, and gentle humor that touched everyone around him.
Born in Denton, Texas, on July 26, 2004, to Zach and Leanne Rozell, Bo grew up in the community he loved. He graduated from Denton Calvary Academy and completed the GAP (God's Alternative Program) at Denton Bible Church, where he deepened his faith and commitment to serving others. Most recently, he was a freshman at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, embracing college life with his characteristic enthusiasm.
Bo cherished time with his family above all—his brothers Abe, Jones, and Rex were his best friends and constant companions. He delighted in playing games, being outdoors, golfing, listening to audiobooks, and spending time with his beloved dog, Ruby. An eternal optimist, Bo never had a bad word to say about anyone or anything. He was the creator of our family's beloved "Family Fun Day," a cherished tradition we tried to hold once a month, where everyone chose an activity. A Family Fun Day would include activities like eating at a favorite restaurant, completing an escape room, playing dominoes, a family campout in the game room while watching a movie, and enjoying a choice dessert. The whole family made it happen in one joyful, chaotic, memory-filled day.
Always eager to serve others with a genuine smile, Bo approached life with independence, confidence, and a fearless spirit. His unique, dry humor shone through in his memorable quotes: of his speech class at Howard Payne, he said, "My speech class is not so much about public speaking – just communicating with humans." Tasting disappointing water, he remarked, "This water tastes like it just gave up on being water." Reflecting on a near-miss bet, "I wanted to make that bet, but my knowledge betrayed me." And after an early driving lesson, "I had a driving lesson today. I hit a bunch of curbs, but no people – so that is a win."
These quotes, often shared at family gatherings and community events, serve as a living legacy of his wit and ability to bring people together. Bo's humor continues to spark joy and connection; his words are cherished touchstones that remind everyone of the light and laughter he brought into their lives.
Bo is survived by his loving parents, Zach and Leanne Rozell, who carry forward his legacy of courage and caring. His brothers, Abe, Jones, and Rex, learned the importance of loyalty and unyielding support from Bo. His grandparents, who cherished his visits, remember his spirit of endless curiosity and joy. His aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins hold onto memories of Bo's infectious laughter and his genuine kindness, each inspired by the unique warmth and positivity he shared with everyone around him.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at The Village Church Denton, 1106 West Oak St, Denton, TX 76201.
Bo will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the light he brought into every room, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy of kindness, optimism, and joyful service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we remember Bo, let us carry his fearless kindness into our next encounter, keeping his light alive through our own actions. May we all strive to embody the optimism and joyful service he brought to the world.
