Billy Wayne (B. W.) Thompson, 81, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Cottonwood Nursing Center. He was born on October 29, 1929 in Grayson County, TX to Melvin Francis and Gladys (Burgin) Thompson. He was married to Ruby Lawrence on June 1, 1965 in Denton, and she preceded him in death. He worked in the construction field. He served in the U. S. Army.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton with Rev. Sam Redfearn officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at funeral home on Thursday, May 5, 2011 for visitation from 6 P.M. until 7 P.M.

Mr. Thompson is survived by one son, Jim Lawrence of Denton; two brothers, Donald M. Thompson of Monroe, LA and Bobby D. Thompson of Dallas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
