Billy Ray Flippin, age 82, of Flower Mound, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, in Grapevine.

He was born October 15, 1926 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Ray Mont Flippin and Doris Mullens Flippin. Billy served in the United States Army during World War II and Korea. He married his wife Margie Belle who preceded him in death on April 24, 2002. Billy then married Penny on August 4, 2006 in Flower Mound.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; daughter, Sandy Reed and husband, Brad; son, Johnny Bill Flippin and wife, Melinda; grandchildren, Jennifer Turner, Christopher Flippin, Stacy Flippin and Travis Laxson; sister, Lena Creswell; step-daughter, Pam Webb and husband, Larry; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Spikes and husband, Jade and Renee McMillan and husband, Mark and four step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Joe Roy Flippin in 1950.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound. Interment will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.
