Bill Valentine, age 74, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in Flower Mound.
He was born June 28, 1933 in McCreery, West Virginia to Elbert Edward and Cecelia Elizabeth Rappold Valentine. Bill served in the United States Army as Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He married Anne Loveless on November 16, 1962 in Chantilly, Virginia. Bill worked for the Dulles Airport Grounds Department for 30 years and the Prince William Hospital Grounds Department from 1996 to 2004. He volunteered as Assistant Scout Master Boy Scout Troop #1370 in Manassas Park, Virginia from 1966 to 1972. He was a member of Izaak Walton League in Manassas from 1966 to 1971. Bill volunteered at Bethlehem Baptist Church child care during Thursday evening visitation from 1976 to 1988. He moved to Texas in March 2004 and was a member of Trinity Valley Community Church in Carrollton since 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; daughter, Rebecca Wurmstein and husband, David of Flower Mound,
step-children, Joyce Liming of Del City, Oklahoma and Brenda Downs and husband, Mark of Moore, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Stanley of Copperas Cove, Texas and brothers, Charles Valentine and wife, Kathy of Culpeper, Virginia and Donald Valentine and wife, Karen of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Robert Liming on December 26, 2004 and by a brother, James Valentine.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2008, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
