Bill Powell, age 56, of Roanoke, Texas passed away, Saturday, February 10, 2007. Bill was born on November 16, 1950 in Denton, Texas to William Grady and Alma Faye (Nash) Powell. He is survived by two daughters, Kira Powell of Orlando, FL and Julie Sydow of Oregon; two sons, Erin Powell of Dallas and William Kelly Powell of Wisconsin; one grandchild, Hunter Collins; best friend of over 40 years, Jack Fowler.
Bill Powell was a man of varied interests and accomplishments as an author, poet, firearms expert, martial artist, world traveller, motorcycle enthusiast and radical. He was many things to many people but always remained true to himself.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Kimball Art Museum, Amon Carter Museum, Texas Ranger Heritage Society or the Woolaroc Museum. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
