Betty Ruth (Wolfe) Ousley, age 75, of Highland Village, Texas, passed away Monday, February 19, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 2, 1932 in Coahoma County, Mississippi to Daisy Little Wolfe and the late Loyd W. Wolfe. Betty married Ira A. Ousley on June 11, 1955 in Rena Lara, Mississippi.
Betty Ruth loved to sing for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her beautiful voice was enjoyed by all that heard her sing as a teenager, singing on gospel radio and then in countless weddings and funerals and in her church homes through all the years. Betty received her Bachelor's degree from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. She later attained her Master's Degree from Delta State University back home in Mississippi. She was a wonderful elementary school teacher for 28 years. She absolutely loved Ira and her three boys with all her heart. Never was there a wife and mom that dedicated herself more to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ira; sons, Dr. Bruce A. Ousley and his wife, Dr. Camille Ousley, of Highland Village, Robert L. Ousley and his wife, Carrie, of Houston, Texas and Lt. Col. William I. Ousley and his wife, Becky, of Caledonia, Mississippi; mother, Daisy Wolfe of Rena Lara, Mississippi; sister, Denie Kendrick and husband, Marshall, of Pasadena, Texas; brother, David Wolfe of Greenville, Mississippi and seven grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Chinn's Chapel in Highland Village. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. The family request memorial contributions to be made to Rena Lara Baptist Church in Rena Lara, Mississippi, 38767.
