Betty Jean Taylor Mason age 66 of Denton passed away Sunday July 25, 2010 at her residence in Denton. She was born August 31, 1943 in Decatur, Texas to John Robert and Lena Elizabeth ( Gober ) Taylor. She married Charles A. Mason September 7, 1979 in Denton, Texas.
Betty was the Owner and Director of the Early Rise Day Care in Denton for 40 years.
A member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2205, and the Denton Area Home Child Care Association.
Betty is survived by her husband Charles Mason of Denton. Daughters Elizabeth Ann ( Lisa ) Terrell and Shari Newton both of Denton. Son Greg Mason of Denton. Sisters Susie Wilson of Krum and Dorothy Nash of Granbury. Brothers Albert Taylor of Bridgeport, Texas, Jimmy Taylor Perrin, Texas, Kenneth Taylor of Oklahoma, Chock Taylor of Decatur, Texas, Tommy Taylor Bridgeport, Texas, Ed Taylor Sanger, Texas.
Grandchildren Jimmy Don Newton, Jennifer Murphey, Travis A. Terrell, Shayna M.Rivera. Great Grandchildren; Nathaniel Newton, Colby Murphey, Kallie Newton, and Caden Murphey. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary K. Love and brother Robert Taylor.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday July 28, 2010 at the Mulkey- Mason Jack Schmitz and Son Chapel. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery west of Krum.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday July 27, 2010 at the Funeral Home.
