Betty Lou Magill Hartline, age 75 of Krum, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Denton on January 19, 1933 to James Marshall and Ruth (Simpson) Magill. She grew up in Denton, graduated from Denton High School, and received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from University of North Texas (N.T.S.U.). Betty married James Hillman Hartline in Denton on September 3, 1953. She taught for 32 years for Denton I.S.D. before retiring.
Betty was an outstanding teacher, dedicated to the education of her students and remained interested in their accomplishments throughout the years. She impacted many lives.
A wonderful, devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was also a devoted Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Denton where she served in many capacities.
Betty is survived by her husband James, daughter Karen Thomason and husband Terry of Forestburg, and brother James Magill and wife Patty of Canton. Brother-in-law A.D. Hartline and wife
Jean of Denton. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Kay Hartline on January 7, 2006 and her parents.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton, Texas 76201. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton. The Rev. Cliff Feeler will officiate the service.
Visitation will be 7 to8 pm Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz Funeral Home, 705 North Locust St., Denton, Texas 76201
In leiu of flowers memorials contribution may be made to Ann's Haven Hospice (5, S. Carroll Blvd, Denton, TX 76201), American Heart Association (Denton Unit -Texas Affiliate, PO Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761-5186) or American Cancer Society (Denton Unit, 3301 W. Freeway, Fort Worth, TX 76107-5709).
Pallbearers will be Ross Robinson, Connor Robison, Leonard Robison, Bredger Thomason, Hardy Burke and Larry Aaron.
