Betty Lucille Barns Gray, 81, of Denton, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009 at Denton Regional Medical Center.  She was born January 9, 1928 in Denton to Robert Monroe and Frances (Minton) Barns.  She was married to the love of her life Roy Gray, Jr. on May 25, 1946 in Denton, he died May 11, 1989.  She attended Denton Public Schools, and Texas Women's University.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked for the Bowling centers in Denton for more than 40 years.  Her love for that sport touched the lives of families throughout the county.  Every person that came in contact with Betty will always remember the phrase "shake hands with the pins".  Her family will remember all the wonderful times we shared with her playing cards, bowling, traveling to family reunions, and "hanging out" at the house.  She was the BEST sister, mother, Bigen, and BeBe that anyone could ever ask for.

Betty is survived by one son, Tim Gray and wife Linda, of Minneapolis, Minnesota,  three daughters, Fran Gray, and Elizabeth Gayle Taylor of Denton, and Janet Stockard and husband Mike, of Krum;  two sisters, Dr. Gladys Lawhon, of Denton, and Eleanor Barns, of New Summerfield,  Eight Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Robert Barns, Jr. Fred Barns, Joe Barns, and sisters Helen Hall, and Mary Ann Coffman, and sons-in-law Riley Taylor and Billy Jack Franklin, Sr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton.  A Graveside service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 at 1 P.M. at Roselawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Steve Barns, officiating.
