Beth Lee Herring, age 80, of Lewisville, Texas, went to her heavenly home on May 19, 2026. She was born on August 13, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Ralph and June Kunze. She graduated from North High School in Columbus in 1963 and from The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry, School of Dental Hygiene in 1967.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and June Kunze of Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dr. Don Herring; son Dr. John Herring and daughter-in-law Roni of Prosper, Texas; son Scott Herring and daughter-in-law Kristi of Flower Mound, Texas; brother Wes Kunze and sister-in-law Sue of Delaware, Ohio; brother Gary Kunze and sister-in-law Carol of Centerville, Ohio; six grandchildren: Carter (and Laura) Herring, Emma (and Emmanuel) Velastegui, Audrey, Caedon, Paige, and Grace Herring; one great-granddaughter, Maranatha; and another great-grandchild on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Beth enjoyed many activities and volunteering over the years. She worked side by side with Don in ministering to Texas A&M students and newlyweds at First Baptist Church, College Station, Texas. She was actively involved for over 30 years in Bible Study Fellowship in College Station, Texas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Denton, Texas, where she served as a discussion leader and treasurer. She also participated in Precepts and Stonecroft Bible Studies. She worked alongside Don with The Gideons International ministry in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and in Denton, Texas, where she served as Secretary/Treasurer and President of the Gideons Auxiliary. She loved planting and caring for all types of flowers wherever she lived, as well as reading Christian novels and vacationing with the family in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She volunteered as a receptionist for Second Mile Ministries at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas, for 16 years and was a member of Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas.

Beth graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry, School of Dental Hygiene, with a B.A. degree and Graduate Dental Hygienist Certificate in 1967. She worked as a dental hygienist for 30 years in Columbus, Ohio, and College Station, Texas.

Beth had the gift of encouragement. Through her many connections in the community, she always shared a smile and an encouraging word. Her kindness and sincere love for people were a blessing to many. She shared her love for the Lord and the reason for her faith with countless people and was a prayer warrior.

Beth was blessed with a great compassion and love for all animals, but especially for their Golden Retrievers. She trained Katie to become a Registered Therapy Dog in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and enjoyed taking Katie to Circle of Life Hospice, Legacy Village Hospice and Assisted Living, Highlands Oncology, and the Springdale Library Reading Program, bringing smiles to the faces of children, patients, families, and staff.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Chapel of Denton Bible Church on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Mike Spencer officiating. For attire, the family welcomes bright colors—especially blues, purples, and pinks—along with sparkles and bling, as she loved these things.

All attendees are also invited to join the family for a reception immediately following the service. The family will hold a private interment at Roselawn Cemetery in Denton at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International Denton Camp, P.O. Box 2221, Denton, TX 76202 and Bible Study Fellowship, 19001 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78258 (bsfiinternational.org).
