Bennie Gene Hodges, 78, of Denton, died Wednesday February 25, 2009, at his home in Denton.

Mr. Hodges was born on April 25, 1930 in Oklahoma to Ben and Ruby (Rogers) Hodges. He was married to Jackie Berry in Denton on January 21, 1983. He worked in transportation at the Denton State School and was a member of Cooper Creek Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday February 28, 2009 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX. Rev. Bobby Bryan will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Cooper Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday February 27 at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Hodges of Denton; daughter, Wylene Hilburn of Yukon, OK; sons, Danny Hodges of Granbury, Don Hodges of Yukon, OK, Lee Hodges of Crescent, OK, Jerry Brierton of Argyle, Bill Smith of Ponder; sisters, Louise Mullen of Denton, Wanda Nations of Denton; brothers, William Hodges of Denton, Tommy Hodges of Amarillo, David Hodges of Amarillo; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
