Barbara Jo Sessums Starnes of Argyle, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, February 7, 2022.

Barbara was born on July 14, 1937 in Oklahoma to Bunk Riley and Emma (Paul) Sessums.  She was the youngest of 11 children.  Barbara had a long career as an instructor and manager of Aladdin Beauty College in Odessa and later in Big Spring, Texas.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Lantana Second Ward.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Mark Starnes and wife Jan of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Ty Starnes of Argyle, Texas; brother, Wallace Sessums of Silverton, Oregon; grandchildren, Jeromy Vossler and wife Jamie, Jeff Starnes, Tasia Starnes Marker and husband Justin, Dakota Starnes and Dustin Maples; great grandchildren, Mandaline, Lainie, Micah, Elijah, Lily, Anna, Jacob, Colten, and Lydia.  She is also survived by numerous very special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Starnes and grandson, Jory Dean Starnes Vossler.

She was gentle, kind, wise and soft spoken.  She dearly loved her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Mulkey-Bowles Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, Texas from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Argyle, Texas.
