Barbara Lou Mordecai, 77, of Denton went to be with her Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 in Denton, Texas. She was born
Oct. 18, 1937 in Frost, Texas to William Fletcher and Elsie Joan Bonnett.
She was a schoolteacher for over 30 years in El Paso, Austin, Dallas and Hillsboro, leaving a lasting legacy through the great numbers of students who were blessed by her impact on them.
She is survived by her three children, son Donnie and wife Ruth, son
Micah and wife LeAnn, and daughter Melanie, and her husband Charles, as
well as nine grandchildren; Megan, Lance, Luke, Leah, Jake, Jordan,
Destinee, Taylor and Tanner, who all loved her dearly.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her sacrificial love she
showed to so many throughout her life, as well as for the magic she
brought to family gatherings, especially at Christmas time during the
celebration of the birth of her Lord. She very much enjoyed serving in
her church.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at the
Frost Baptist Church in Frost, Texas.
