Barbara Joyce Hanley (Knapp)
September 8, 1936 - May 16, 2016

Our mother, Barbara Joyce Hanley has joined the angels in the kingdom of Heaven on the morning of May, 16th 2016, as she quietly passed in her sleep. Barbara was born September 8, 1936 in Binghamton, New York to John Merton Knapp and Crystal Elizabeth Widger Knapp, both preceded her in death. Barbara attended Oneida State University of Oneida, New York where she earned a Teaching Degree. Barbara retired from Bent Tree Bible Church where she was a long standing member.

Barbara is survived by four loving children, a son William Disbrow and wife Tracy of Bedford, Texas and three daughters, Cynthia Davidson and husband Glenn of Denton, Texas, Elizabeth Duffy and husband Rick of The Colony, Texas and Debra Knight and husband Michael of Moore, Oklahoma. Barbara was blessed with 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Phillip Knapp of Las Vegas, Nevada and David Knapp and Patti Curtis of Thousand Islands, New York. Louis McGee was Barbara's partner and companion, and brought her much joy in her final years.

Barbara was a very devoted Christian and followed Jesus in her everyday life. A celebration in Memory of Barbara's life will take place June 4, 2016, 10:30 AM, at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 1424 Stuart Road Denton, Texas 76209.
