On 4/19/2016, with her family around her, Barbara Brandon Buchanan, 80, left her home in Denton, Texas to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever.
Mrs. Buchanan was born on July 30, 1935 in Fort Worth to Ulman and Nova (Bonner) Brandon. She was married to Henry Allen Buchanan, Jr. on July 3, 1957 in Fort Worth. They were married for 54 years before his passing on April 16, 2012. She had attended Texas Wesleyan College. She was a member of Hickory Creek Baptist Church in Denton, where she frequently played the piano and taught children's Sunday School. For forty years she taught children's Sunday School. She loved singing and playing hymns, was a dedicated wife and loving mother who instilled in her daughters a commitment to her Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her daughter, Jill Moericke and her husband Nick of Denton, Lisa Saur and her husband Dan of Dallas; sisters, Mildred Crow and her husband Don of Burleson, Martha Matthews and her husband Ward of Denton; grandchildren, Mark Tromanhauser, Joy Jones, and Matt Jones. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Buchanan and a sister, Bettye Jean Johnson.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday April 21, 2016 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday April 22, 2016 at the Denton Bible Church Chapel, 2300 E. University Dr., Denton.
