Barbara Ann Barton, age 82, left this world to be in the loving arms of God on April 7, 2023.  She was born in Sikeston, Missouri on December 3,1940 at the family home to her parents Thomas and Nellie Meredith. Her first year of life she moved with her family to Buffalo, New York.  After graduating from Bennett High School, she attended Buffalo State College.

On April 5, 1966, she married the love of her life, Gary Barton from Trenton, Missouri. During their marriage they moved to Texas where they raised their two daughters.  She worked as an executive secretary, taught English as a second language, led a senior women's bible class, and attended Baylor University where she majored in Asian Studies.  After retirement, they moved to Denton to be near their four grandchildren.

Barbara's greatest joy was loving her husband, children, grandchildren and her Lord Jesus.  Everyone that knew her felt her love for others and enjoyed her sense of humor. She was gentle and kind, but also quick of mind and strong in her beliefs.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gary Barton; daughters, Libby Stone, husband Jason and their daughter Rebekah; Andi Nolan, husband Dan and children Meredith, Mason, and Marlee Jeter.  She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother.
