Arthur N. Hatch, 88, a resident of Argyle, passed on November 25, 2015 after a brief illness with complications from pneumonia. Born in Falmouth, Maine on April 6, 1927, he attended Falmouth High School and went on to serve in the US Navy. After his service he developed a strong interest in aviation. Captain Hatch was with American Airlines for over 30 years until his retirement and mastered many aircraft types from props to 747's.
Art enjoyed the company of all his friends and his animals. His hobbies included RC aircraft, golf, cooking and an unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. He was a 33rd degree member of the Masonic Lodge in Danvers, Massachusetts. He was also a member of the North Texas Aeromodelers and was a respected aviation engineer by his peers.
Art is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betsy (Bailey)Hatch, son Peter and wife Mary Jo of Florida, daughter Paula Hatch LaSala of Argyle, grandsons Dennis Hatch and Andrew LaSala both of California, along with nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends including man's best friend Jazz and Sketch. He dearly loved his family, humor, a good pipe and a bit of libation.
There will be no memorial service. Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Falmouth, Maine at a future date. The family requests that any memorial tribute donations be made in his name to the Denton Humane Society, PO Box 1972, Denton, TX 76202.
