Rev. Arthur Udale Burnside, 88, of Denton, a retired Nazarene Minister died Saturday, November 4, 2006 at his home. He was born October 14, 1918 in Bridgeport, Ohio to Charles Hale and Mary Ann (Brown) Burnside. He served in the US Army Air Corps in World War 2. He is a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He was married to Fay Calvin in Morgantown, West Virginia in 1949. He also worked for the Denton Independent School District.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M.Tuesday, November 7, 2006 in the First Church of the Nazarene, 2321 E. Sherman Dr. Denton, with Rev. Paul Marshall, officiating. Burial will follow in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 P.M.. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton for visitation from 6:00 P.M. and until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, November 6, 2006.
Rev. Burnside is survived by his wife, of Denton, two sons, Rev. Bernie Burnside, of Denton, and Dan Burnside, of Round Rock, and a brother, Bill H. Burnside, of Cooperstown, PA Four Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild.
