Obituary

Anna Sue Powers, 91, of Lewisville, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 at a local nursing home.  Anna Sue was born October 8, 1916, in Duffield, VA to Guy Melvin Hollandsworth and Lillian Fay Chambers.  She is survived by her daughter, Sue Myers and her husband, Joel of Germantown, TN; son, Larry Powers and his wife, Grace of Lewisville, TX;   sister, Beth King and her husband, Jack of Princeton, WVA and brother-in-law, Fred Brown of Erie, PA ; brothers, James Hollandsworth and his wife, Margie of Huntington, WVA and Bill Hollandsworth and his wife, Janice of Valley Park, MO; sister-in-law, Mary Hollandsworth of Durham, NC; five grandchildren, Douglas Powers, Charles Powers, Elizabeth Wade, Tiffany Foss and Kimberly Callaway; and six great grandchildren, Coleman Callaway, Georgia Foss, Connor Callaway, Eliza Foss, Emmett Foss and Carson Callaway.  Anna Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, March 23, 1994, sister, Fay Brown and brother, Dr. Luther Hollandsworth.

She attended Berea College in Berea, KY where she was a Home Economics major and met her husband, Gene.  Anna Sue worked for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago for 15 years in various administrative positions.

Anna Sue was always helping others.  She and Gene served as Stephen Ministers for several years at St. Paul Community Church in Homewood, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Lewisville.  Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service.  Interment will be in  Homewood Memorial Gardens in Homewood, IL.
