Ann Rasco Griggs, 89, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2017. Ann was born on June19, 1928 in Brownsville, Texas the daughter of Neil O'Connor Rasco and Annie Mae Maddox Rasco.

Ann graduated from Austin High School and went on to receive her Masters degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin. Ann went on to teach English and Journalism at the high school level in several school districts in Texas. She retired from Denton I.S.D. in 1989 as the district's Teacher of the Year.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Silas Griggs and cousin Patsy Tarro. She is survived by son Silas S. Griggs, Laura Krause (daughter-in-law), daughter Laura Eaton, Anna Elizabeth Eaton (granddaughter), Mitzi Griggs (sister-in-law), and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Roselawn memorial Park in Denton.
