Ann V. (Tyson) Crowell, 90, died Friday, July 8, 2022 at Medical City in Arlington. She was born on February 24, 1932 in the Tyson Community near Pilot Point. Ann Tyson Crowell family homesteaded the area currently called Johnson Branch Park at Lake Ray Roberts in 1854.
Ann was a faithful and beloved member of Denton Baptist Temple, in Denton, TX, for nearly 30 years. In the early 1990's she was hired by the church to be the church secretary; several years later she also took on the office of Church Clerk. Ms. Ann served her church well in so many areas: she loved to decorate, and made many beautiful flower arrangements, and corsages for special occasions; she, also, became the official photographer for special guests and events; she personally helped many people that came to the church doors in need; she was a faithful servant of the Lord, and she performed many acts of kindness and service for church members, missionaries and those needy that came to the church. She retired in 2017, at the age of 85, having served the Lord and her church family, faithfully for over 24 years.
Ann was a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and presided as State of Texas DAV Auxiliary Commander 1997 and member of Unit 42 Grand Prairie. Ann was an Endowed Member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Grand Prairie Chapter 219 and member of Lonnie L Blake Chapter 1116.
Ann is survived by son Don Coxsey and wife Christiane of Sanger, grandson Gary Coxsey Jr and wife Natasha of Mead OK, granddaughter Jina Jones of Whitesboro, TX, great grandchildren Patience Baucom, Tristan Coxsey of Mead, OK, Jason Coxsey, Justin Coxsey of Frisco, TX and Hadley Jones of Whitesboro, TX.
She was preceded in death by husband Gale Crowell, daughter Belinda Kay Coxsey, son Gary Dale Coxsey, and grandson Jeffrey Don Coxsey.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. The graveside service will be held at 9:00 am Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Tyson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to DAVA Grand Prairie Unit No. 42, 4636 Friars Lane, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
