Andy Joe Thomas, 97, entered into his eternal home on October 15, 2021 in Denton, Texas. He was born on January 28, 1924 in Whitesboro, Texas to James T. and Aletha Johnnie Thomas.

Joe was a 1941 graduate of Whitesboro High School. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in Italy and was awarded the Good Conduct Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge, WWII Victory Medal, the Bronze Star, and three Battle Stars. Following his military service, he married Neva McKenzie on March 23, 1947. One child, Joe Wayne Thomas, was born to that union.

Joes' longstanding career was in grocery store management. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church of Denton. He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, wordsearch, and jigsaw puzzles, many of which hang in his home's garage.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Thomas, his parents, Jim and Johnnie Thomas, brothers J.T., John, William Miles, Dwight, Price, Doug, and sisters, Baby Girl Thomas, Honor Bell Hagan, Hope Garland, and Peggy Richardson.

He is survived by son Joe Wayne Thomas of Bedford, Texas, brother Chesley Thomas of Oklahoma City, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services for Mr. Thomas will be 10:00am October 23, 2021 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, TX with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton, TX.  Visitation will be at 9:00am prior to the service.
