Amy Rebecca Windle, 26, of Denton, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Select Rehabilitation Hospital of Denton.
Amy was born on January 15, 1985 in Denton to Don R. and Rebecca Ann (Sartin) Windle. She was a 2003 graduate of Denton High School, where she was active in theatre arts, receiving full company honors for participation in every theatre production during her 4 years of high school. After high school, she continued her lifelong passion for the performing arts, attending and graduating from the University of Evansville, Indiana with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2007, followed by a 3-year stay in New York with Manhattan Theatre Club and Signature Theatre Company. Amy gave her final performance in December 2010 in Dallas in a stage play produced by Sideman Productions called Reckless.
Her mother preceded her in death in January of 2001. Amy is survived by her father, Don R. Windle of Denton and her sister, Elisabeth "Beth" of St. Louis, MO, as well as, her grandparents, Ray and Lois Windle of Denton and Robbye Sartin of Haltom City; her stepmother, Bobbie Windle; many other family members and a host of very good friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Ray and Lois Windle, 3705 Granada Trail, Denton, on Thursday evening, September 22, 2011 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Campus Theatre, 214 West Hickory, Denton. Amy's family and friends are all encouraged to attend.
Amy's favorite charitable cause was the National Endowment for the Arts. Because of her strong support of NEA, the family is encouraging contributions in any amount to the National Endowment for the Arts in Amy's name in lieu of flowers.
