Amelita Bryant Payne, 83, of Gainesville, formerly of Denton, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at North Texas Medical Center. She was born October 27, 1928 New Orleans, LA to Joseph Earl and Dora Nell (Ford) Bryant. She was married to Harvey Payne on November 9, 1949 in Vidor, TX and he passed away on December 23, 1997. She attended Public Schools and Texas Woman's University. She was a member of the Highland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Payne is survived by a daughter, Ruth Dunn and a son Wesley Payne of Denton, a Granddaughter Sharron Yeck of Sanger, and two Great Grandchildren Bianca Rodriguez and Monica Gregory of Sanger.

There will be a Memorial service at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Schafer officiating. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
