Alta Ruth Sims, 95, of Denton, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 in Denton. She was born May 19, 1910 in Collin County, Texas to C. D. and Georgia (Sperry) Farrell. She is a graduate of Denton High School, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Cosmopolitan Sunday School Class, and the First United Methodist Women. She is retired from the Dallas County Clerk's Office, having worked there from 1945 until 1968. She was married to Col. Clyde E. Sims on May 7, 1980 in Denton.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2005 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Funeral home with Rev. William C. Crouch, Officiating. Entombment will follow in Restland Abbey in Dallas at 12:30 P.M., The family will be at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. for visitation Tuesday, June 21, 2005. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Locust, Denton, TX 76201
Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband, Clyde E. Sims, of Denton, a sister, Thelma Newton, of Sanger, step daughter, Jenny Adamson and husband Roger, of Dallas, three Step Sons, David Creech and wife Susan, David Creech, of Maitland, FL, Ron Creech and wife, Billy, of Oklahoma City, OK and Randy Sims, of Wichita Falls, Nieces Joyce Fuller, Deidre Shanley, of New York, and Tanya Gorman, of Burleson, and a nephew Brian Fuller, of CA Many Great Nieces and Nephews.
