Born May 31st, 1916 in Lewisville, Texas, she passed away December 24, 2006 at the age of 90 from complications of Parkinson's disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin (Ed) Franklin Threadgill of Lewisville, mother Claudia and father Charlie Orr, brother Garland Orr, sisters Maurine McKenzie, Vernelle Robinson and Edith Orr. She is survived by her son, Charles E. (Gene) Threadgill of Grapevine, Texas and daughter Sandra Myers and husband Larnie of Lewisville, Texas. Grandchildren include Bobby Brown Jr., Joy Romero and husband Esteban, Jackie Wilhelm and husband Jerry and Kenneth Brown. Great grandchildren are Jacob Brown, Brooke Norris, Sarah Brown, Monica Meeks, Jarrett Brewer, Jordan Brewer, Kevin Brown, Kale Brown, and Jessica Brown. Great, great grandchildren are Jonathan and Tylee Meeks. Nephews are Bob McKenzie, Jack McKenzie, Jim Robinson, Jack Robinson, Joe Robinson Jr. and niece Janny Longan.
Jeanice grew up in Lewisville where her father co-owned and operated the Chambers & Orr drug store circa 1915. She graduated from Lewisville High School in 1932. She was a member of the West Main Church of Christ in Lewisville. After marrying Ed Threadgill in 1936, they moved to the Oak Cliff region of Dallas and lived there until relocating back to Lewisville in 1955. Soon thereafter she became the Lewisville High School secretary. Her tenure spanned some 20 years. She retired in 1978.
Her favorite past time was spending Friday evenings with Ed and close neighbors playing Canasta and Dominos. In later years, this was replaced with yearly trips to The Taylor Ranch just north of Gunnison, Colorado for several weeks of cabin camping with seasonal regulars from Lewisville.
Visitation will be 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2006 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville. Interment will follow in the Old Hall Cemetery.
