Alpha Nelson, age 93, of Lewisville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in Lewisville.
She was born June 12, 1916 in Athens, Texas to Dan DeHart and Dottie Hendricks DeHart.
Alpha married Arndell Nelson who preceded her in death in 1984. She was a member of Northview Bapitst Church in Lewisville.
Alpha is survived by her daughter, Patsy Pruitt of Lewisville; sons, Arndell Nelson, Jr. and wife, June of Lewisville, Kenneth Nelson and wife, Dean of Bossier City, Louisiana and Daniel Nelson and wife, Pat of Daphne, Alabama; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Hackworth, by a son, Curtis Wayne Nelson and by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Cemetery in Wilmer, Texas. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions made to Northview Baptist Church.
