Alma Jean (Rose) Christian, 89, of Denton, TX went home to be with Jesus on Sunday February 21, 2010 in Krum, TX.
She was born on August 20, 1920 in Little Elm, TX to George and Lillie (Reynolds) Rose. She was married to Carl Morgan Christian on September 14, 1941 in Rockwall, TX (he died on January 28, 1997).
She never retired from being a homemaker, housewife and loving mother. She graduated from Draughan's Business College and was a member of First Baptist Church of Denton since 1961 and served for years as a 5th grade girls Sunday School Teacher and with the Women Missionary Union. She worked in the Homebound Ministry as long as she could drive.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday February 26 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM Saturday February 27, 2010 in the Cindy Nichols Chapel of the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton, TX. Rev. Jimmy Carl Christian and Rev. Cliff Feeler will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Ryan Christian, Darren Christian, Brent Christian, Christian Nuckels, Jordan Nuckels, Robert Christian.
She is survived by her four children, one daughter, Martha Christian Nuckels of Denton; three sons, Jimmy Carl Christian of Cedar Hill, George Gilbert Christian of Colorado Springs, CO, Bobby Dale Christian of Peyton, CO; one sister, Emma Louise Duke of St. Louis, MO; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Christian; daughter, Judy Kay Christian; daughter-in-law, Carol Christian; son-in-law, Earl Nuckels; sisters, Ruth Arthur, Mary Elizabeth "Bettye" Young, Gladys Megginson; brother, James M. Rose.
