Allen Ray Knowles, 59 of Denton, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born December 21, 1945 in Roanoke, Texas to Dan and Evelyn Knowles. He was married to Linda Morris, in Denton, March 18, 1967. He was the Owner and Operator of Al's Furniture Store in Denton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, September 9, 2005 in the First Baptist Church, with Dr. Jeff Williams, and Rev. Cliff Feeler, officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. Thursday, September 8, 2005. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, International Ministries Fund, 1100 Malone St. Denton, TX 76201 Pallbearers will be Michael Wallace, Darrell Scobee, James Elliott, Michael Venables, Bill Morgan, and Ron Shelnutt.
Mr. Knowles is survived by his wife, Linda Knowles, daughter, Codi Knowles, and son and daughter in law, Clint and Rachel Knowles, and grandson Allen James (A. J.) Knowles, and Mother In Law, Juanita Morris, all of Denton, two sisters, Pat Knowles, of Dorchester, and Carolyn Beaty, of Whitewright, and four brothers, Kenneth Knowles, of Boyd, Jerry Knowles, of Alba, and Roger Knowles, of Direct, and Ronnie Knowles, of Ignacio, CO and two unofficially adopted sons, Chanachai (Na) Riangtonglang, of Bangkok, Thailand, and Anguyo Francis Leni, of Uganda, Africa. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Faye Leeth, and Sue McKinney.
