Allen Blankenship, 56, of Denton, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2009 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born November 3, 1952 in Denver, Colorado, to Charles Alvin and Mary Jane (DuBard) Blankenship. He was married to Linda Warren on August 12, 1972 in Owensboro, KY. He was a graduate of Valley High School, Dallas Christian College (BS) and Texas A & M University (MBA). He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lone Oak, KY. Allen kept the baby nursery in the church for years and is known as the "Baby Whisperer". He was also a KY Colonel. He was a Safety and Human Resources Manager in Transportation and Construction, currently working for Frank Bartel, Aubrey TX, and formerly CEO for Harper Construction in Paducah, KY.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton, with Rev. Ed Haynes officiating.
Mr. Blankenship is survived by his wife Linda Blankenship of Denton, daughter Alison ElaineBlankenship Palmer and her husband Aaron of Denton, sons Michael Paul Blankenship and wife Tonya Alane Haynes of Justin and Stuart Allen Blankenship and Crystal Volker of Denton, parents Charles and Jane Blankenship of Naples, FL, sister Sharla Blankenship Reynolds, and husband Blair of Georgia, and brothers David Blankenship and wife Paula of Louisville, KY and Roger Blankenship and wife Mary of GA, grandchildren Kylie Michelle Palmer, Chelsea Jewel Blankenship, and Brady Allen Blankenship. Nieces and nephews.
