Obituary
Alice Dill Holley passed away Sunday January 7, 2007 after a 4 year fight with cancer.
Alice was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia and married John D Holley in 1953. They have three children, Susan Chvojan, Danny Holley and Erin Dickson. Alice was a grandmother to Ariel, Allison, Adam, Caroline and Jake.
She was fiercely loyal and dedicated to her family. Our mother was a homemaker first and foremost. She enjoyed raising her children and looking after Dad. She also looked forward to working at Voertman's with her friends.
She was a sweet, soft spoken mother but she could really get worked up over a game of cards. She was a fierce competitor and she liked to win. Some of her favorite pastimes were shopping with the grandkids, going to the beach and playing cards.
Alice and John celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2003.
We would like to thank all the caring people at Senior Care and Rehabilitation and American Hospice. They made mother's last days comfortable. She always showed grace and bravery as she faced her terminal illness. She was truly an inspiration to all of us. There is not another mother and wife like her.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 15 Roselawn Memorial Park, 2601 Roselawn Dr. Denton. The Rev. Marti Soper will officiate.
