Alice MacBey Collins Hammett passed away at her home on January 16, 2021 surrounded by her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her Pumpkin. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters, Judith Collins Thomason with husband Toby Thomason Sr. of Denton and Rebecca Collins Childers with husband Phillip (Corky) Childers III of Bedford, her daughters, Jennifer Hammett Moores with husband Marcus Mills of Denton and Amy Jo Hammett with husband Robert Vigus of Aubrey, her grandchildren, Briana Moores Paz, Michaela Moores, Caitlyn Moores, and Liam Vigus, great-grandchildren, Alexandria Rios and Scarlett Paz, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margery (Marge) Ballard Pursifull and Gordon (Mike) Collins, and her son, Michael Hammett.
Alice was born on January 13, 1950 in Liberty, Texas. A longtime resident of Denton County, she graduated from Denton High School in 1968 and worked as a civil servant at FEMA before retiring. Alice was a talented and meticulous painter and found great joy in making crafts for her family. A private graveside service will be held in her honor at Roselawn Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her son.
