Alfredo H. Portales, age 78, born January 12, 1938 to Ponciano and Emilia Portales in Melchor Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico. Passed away July 13, 2016 in Denton, Texas. Alfredo was a devoted husband and most of all a loving father and grandfather. He moved his family to Denton in 1983 and began working at Acme Brick, from which he retired after 27 years. He devoted the rest of his life to enjoying the love of his family and creating wonderful memories with his children and grandchildren. He will truly be missed and will be remembered always by the joyous memories that he left behind. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Dora Portales, sons Joe, Javier, Jose Alfredo and wife Nichole, Patrick and wife Nancy and Steven, daughters Leticia Tapia and husband Pedro, Linda Sanchez and husband Jose, Venita Portales, Lucinda Godinez and husband Jose, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored and loved dearly. Preceded in death by his parents, Ponciano and Emilia, and sisters Berta, Maria and Petra and son Juan Portales. Visitation at Denton Funeral Home Chapel will be Sunday, July 17th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint Marks Catholic Church in Argyle, Texas, Monday, July 18, 2016, 10:00 AM. Officiating Father George Pullambrayil. Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
