Alfred "Abbie" Bland, 79, passed away on May 30, 2017 in Pilot Point at Countryside Nursing Home. Alfred was born on October 8, 1937 in Sanger, TX to Jess and Gracie Bland.
Alfred married Annie Parker on April 19, 1958 in Gainesville, TX. Alfred was a member of Full Gospel Church. Alfred worked for two excavating companies for thirty years. For the next twenty years he owned and ran his own company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Gracie Bland; five brothers and three sisters.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Annie Bland; two sons, Michael and Jeffery Bland; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Bland and his wife Franice.
A visitation will from Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
