Obituary

Alcides Alvarez Gregory was born February 11, 1925 in Camaguey, Cuba to Alcides Alvarez Rodes and Rosa Emilia Gregory Camin.

Alcides worked as a TV technician, Electrical Technician and Carpenter. He was a survivor of 17 concentration camps (forced labor) and of oppression by the Communist Country of Cuba. He loved his adopted country of The United States of America. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Alvarez Guerra of almost 58 years. Children, Delma Vazquez, Ana Maria Benavidez, Tony Benavidez and Bertha Alvarez; Michelle Ray of DallasMichelle Ray of Dallas, Michelle Ray of Dallas, Grandchildren, Dailyn Valdez, Tony Valdez, Adrian Cazares, Tony Benavidez, Ydais Stanley, Blake Stanley, David Benavidez, Angela Benavidez; Great-grandchildren, Tony Valdez, Jr., Esteban Valdez, Natalia Valdez, Emily Stanley, and Andres Valdez; Sisters, Marianela Alvarez, Denia Leon, Nielle Alvarez, Rosa Alvarez, and Elsa Alvarez.

A funeral service will be held, 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Flower Mound, Texas. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M., Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Flower Mound, Texas.
