Adrian Amando Oliveira, 67, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born August 18, 1946, to Amando R. and Carmen B. Oliveira in Alice, Texas.

He is survived by his wife and companion, Rosie Oliveira; his daughters Diana Oliveira and Sarah Nowicki (Nick); and his sons, Adrian Oliveira, David Oliveira, Jimmy Fisher and Ronny Fisher (Aime). Adrian is also survived by his three sisters: Graciela Penick (Buddy), Melisa Cavazos (Rick), and Carmen Lira (Albert); Horacio "Lacho" Alaniz (Thelma), who was raised as a brother, 12 grandchildren, and a large extended family.

After serving in the United States Army, Adrian earned a degree in chemistry and continued his education to receive a Master in Science and then to enter a doctoral program for a doctorate in philosophy. Adrian was a retired rancher and educator who in his retirement focused his attention on his lifelong hobby of flying racing pigeons.

A memorial service will be held at Denton Funeral Home, 120 South Carroll Blvd, on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas 75211 at 2:00 PM.
